So this is something I wanted to post under my "Inspiration" section, but I still haven't figured out how to....oh someday...
As I was reading from "The Word for you Today" I came across an excert that talked about leaving the past behind and moving forward in Christ. Since this is one of the things I have been working on for a while, it really spoke to me (and gave me a jumpstart as to naming this blog.)
The Bible says God works through "clay pots...to prevent anyone from confusing God's...power with us." That way when people see good things in us, they know it's God. Jesus pointed out that a clay pot containing a candle with a lid on it may be full of light, but people can't see it. Only when the pot is cracked does the light shine out through the imperfections- in the same way God's grace shines out through us."
When we beat ourselves up over things in the past we contradict God's word and open doors for Satan's attack. We must never forget that God thinks so highly of us that he sent His son to save us from our imperfections. He "gave of Himself that He might redeem us and purify for Himself a people eager and enthusiastic about living a life that is good."
God is the one who can perfect us! Can you love and accept youself the way God sees you? I know I am still a work in progress, but I want to see myself as God sees me, Perfect inspite of my imperfections!
